The ocean sustains all life on Earth \u2014 regulating our climate, feeding billions, and anchoring the entire economies of \u2013 yet it remains one of the most under-capitalised frontiers. In 2023, just $25 billion was invested in the blue economy\u2014far short of the $175 billion needed annually to protect and regenerate this vast ecosystem. This plenary dives into what it will take to close this gap through real, deployed capital that rewires ocean finance for impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A new wave of ocean funds is combining philanthropy, private capital, and industry leadership to build regenerative ocean finance. True scale, however, requires better integration between those working at sea and those shaping financial systems.
