Through the Neptune Mission, launched after the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, we aim to turn ambition into action: implementing the High Seas Treaty with new marine protected areas and shared scientific capacity. The ocean is our renewed abundance.

China’s green transition is not theoretical—it is visible in deserts turned into forests, cities powered by renewables, and industrial strategies where ESG is embedded into the national agenda. From the Kubuqi Desert reforestation to rural revitalisation (乡村振兴) and innovative green finance instruments, China is redefining what sustainable development looks like at scale. This session examines the policies, technologies, and investment mechanisms driving China’s environmental transformation—and asks how these models can be adapted to other regions. It invites participants to consider not just the achievements, but the underlying systems and cultural drivers that made them possible.

Through real-world application, collaborative reflection, and practical exercises, you’ll gain the tools to envision and catalyse transformative change in your own sphere of influence. Because systems change doesn’t begin out there—it begins with how we show up within the systems we are part of.

This is a fourth session of a four-session series.

This final chapter builds on the morning panel and place-based sessions to co-design a Singapore-based blended finance platform aimed at mobilising capital to transform Asia’s economic systems.

Drawing on insights from nature restoration and place-based investing, participants will explore how philanthropic, public, and private capital can be combined to finance well-being economies—absorbing risk, stabilising markets, and enabling investment in regenerative value chains. Through interactive design sprints, the session will examine governance models, capital stack structures, and MRV (measurement, reporting, and verification) systems to support equitable, nature-positive growth.

Participants will work collaboratively to co-create a foundational roadmap for launching the platform, complete with actionable strategies for aligning capital flows with ecological resilience, community prosperity, and long-term market health.

This interactive workshop builds on the morning panel discussion by taking participants into Indonesia as a living laboratory for regenerative local economies. Using SecondMuse’s Economic Design and Development Tool (EDDT), it will explore how place-based investing can connect biodiversity protection with sustainable livelihoods and inclusive economic growth.

Participants will engage in collaborative mapping, apply the EDDT framework across different landscapes, and examine how strategic capital deployment can generate mutual ecological, social, and commercial value. The workshop will also focus on identifying scalable solution pathways, co-designing procurement strategies, and establishing KPIs that align financial returns with nature-positive, community-centred outcomes.

By the end, attendees will gain actionable insights and tools to invest in place—transforming landscapes into engines of regenerative prosperity while safeguarding ecosystems and communities.

This 40-minute dialogue brings together key leaders to explore how protecting nature is not only a moral imperative—but a strategic one.

Drawing from experience across corporate value chains, philanthropic capital, and ecological science, the conversation will spotlight how regenerative investments can align stakeholder interests, build resilient markets, and co-create shared prosperity. They will equip participants with a robust understanding of mutual value creation, from theory to market applications, enabling them to integrate purpose, ecosystem thinking, and outcome-linked procurement strategies within their organisations and investments.

This session also sets the stage for workshop sessions which will happen after this dialogue. Together, we ask: What does it take to make restoration not just viable—but vital for business, communities, and the planet?

You will leave with a deeper understanding of the ocean’s role in our shared future and clear ideas for how institutions and leaders can help protect and restore its health.

Asia wastes over 230 million tonnes of food annually, even as more than 375 million people across the region remain undernourished. This stark contrast highlights food waste as not just an inefficiency, but both a social injustice and an environmental crisis.

This session reimagines food waste not merely as a challenge, but as a catalyst for regeneration. It explores how circular, inclusive, and low-carbon food systems can turn waste into value—economically, socially, and ecologically. From community food banks and food recovery to upcycled ingredients and nutrient reintegration, a range of practical models are already emerging across Asia. By treating food waste as a starting point for innovation, ASEAN and Asia more broadly can build food systems that restore equity, reduce environmental harm, and create new pathways for sustainable development.

Rather than promoting a single solution, the session showcases approaches such as redistribution, bioconversion, fermentation, and circular logistics. It examines what is needed to scale these models, including policy reform, shifts in consumer behaviour, inclusive financing mechanisms, and appropriate infrastructure.

For centuries, Asian traditions such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and ancestral kitchens have treated food as both nourishment and healing. Modern science now confirms what ancient wisdom long understood: diet can prevent, manage, and even reverse chronic disease. A plant-forward diet—centered on grains, legumes, and vegetables—is one of the most accessible ways to support both personal health and the planet.

Yet across much of Asia, meat remains central to the plate, often seen as a symbol of wealth and strength. This cultural norm persists despite livestock contributing 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions and accelerating land degradation. The gap between what we eat and what we know is growing.

This session reframes ‘food as medicine’ as both a personal wellness philosophy and a climate solution. It explores the potential of holistic diets, culinary innovation, and a systemic shift from meat-centric to plant-forward eating. It also asks how we can move beyond awareness to embed ancient wisdom into modern food systems—transforming trend into tradition and healing both people and planet.
