Impact Lab 1 (Level 4 Suntec Convention Centre)

At the Himalayan foothills, Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is a Special Administrative Region and living experiment in redesigning the human construct—an urban platform where well-being, values, and human connection drive regeneration, resilience, and flourishing over extraction. As a trusted gateway for global partnerships and investment, GMC aligns investor confidence with Bhutan’s values-led model while enabling green industries, mindful tourism, finance, health, education, and technology.

Grounded in a new model for life—inner cultivation expressed as outward impact, it advances a philosophy where philanthropy, love, and sustainability are one. Using the OCTAVE concept as a reference lens—human-scale “code” informing city-scale choices—GMC elevates ecological stewardship and cultural integrity alongside modern economic drivers.

This session is the grounding: to turn vision into reality through co-creation among governments, philanthropies, investors, business, and communities to build a city where people and nature thrive. Through dialogue with visionary leaders, the session will highlight GMC’s global relevance—inviting governments, philanthropies, investors, private sector partners, and communities to co-create the future of cities.

Fengshan CC

OCTAVE Institute, under Tsao Pao Chee (TPC) Group will be partnering Fengshan division under East Coast GRC to do a Social Transformation Project to help families living in public rental flats break out of the poverty cycle.

Those who sign up for this learning journey will get to visit and interview a family, have a tour of the community facility where programmes will be held and do reflections on their experience.

What to expect/Attire: Clothes which can allow you to sit on the floor, do not wear too many layers as no air-con and for shoes slip-on is good as easier to enter homes.

Note: It is advised not to take photos/videos or to seek consent before you do so when visiting the families. When taking the photos, it would be good if the faces of those you are visiting is not shown and it is encouraged not to post on social media.

In this interactive workshop, policy entrepreneur and Global Citizen co-founder Michael Sheldrick will draw on case studies from grassroots period poverty activists in South Africa, Prime Minister Mia Mottley, the Caribbean, to coal towns in Western Australia reinventing themselves as clean energy hubs, we will explore how lasting policy change is created—not by purity, but by pragmatic idealism.

With over 15 years of experience mobilising $40 billion for frontline solutions, Michael introduces the tools of policy entrepreneurship: identifying levers of influence, building coalitions with unlikely allies, and turning bold ideas into real outcomes.

Designed for those working in climate, education, philanthropy, and community development, the session includes practical exercises to map alliances, tackle system blockers, and practise effective strategy.
